By Lori Robertson
Lori Robertson (robertson.lori@gmail.com), a former AJR managing editor, is a senior contributing writer for the magazine.

Chicago Tribune Managing Editor Ann Marie Lipinski gets in line for the editorship at the paper. As part of a transition period, Tribune names Editor Howard A. Tyner senior vice president and editor, and Lipinski becomes vice president and executive editor. After climbing the ranks at the Trib since she was an intern in 1978, Lipinski, 44, will get the top job sometime next year. Tyner will spend much of his time as group editor for Tribune Publishing's 11 dailies.... Lorraine Branham, the former Tallahassee Democrat executive editor who was asked to step down last year, lands in Pittsburgh, as assistant to the publisher of the Post-Gazette.
