3 Great Mobile Journalism Tools
December 13, 2013

This month, American Journalism Review is featuring some of the gifts journalists want for the holidays.

We also thought it would be a great time to feature some of Jeremy Caplan’s favorite things for mobile journalists.

Caplan, the director of education, Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, highlighted the mobile journalism gadgets he loves and how they work at the 2013 Online News Association conference in Atlanta.

His picks included:

Rode mic for iPhone, which helps capture higher quality audio recordings, $149 at pictureline.com

Bottle Cap Tripod, (helps turn any bottle into an instant tripod) $10, Photojojo.com

XShot 2.0 camera extender, which can deftly hide the fact you are taking a “selfie,” among other benefits $34.95, http://xshot.com
